BROWN COUNTY
Virginia Diane (Voils) Tetrick, 67, of Brown County, passed away at her home Saturday, 19 May 2018 in the loving arms of her husband, Marvin Lee Tetrick, surrounded by her family.
She was born 24 Nov. 1950 in Beech Grove to William “Bill” and Margie Voils. She married Marvin Tetrick 24 Aug. 1968.
He survives, along with their two children, Marty (Lisa) Tetrick and Meranda “Mindy” (Brian) VanderVeen; five grandchildren, Justin and Matthew Tetrick, Elena “Ellie”, Luke and Samuel VanderVeen; two stepgrandchildren, Brendon and Madison Taylor; one great-granddaughter, Zoey Lynn Tetrick; and her faithful furry companion, Twig. Also surviving are her brother, Jerry (Jean) Voils of Morgantown; sisters, Janet (Marty) Dalton of Morgantown and Judy (Paul) Ballard of Whiteland; and numerous nieces, nephews, and dearly loved friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William “Bill” Sr. and Margie Voils; brothers, William “Bill” Voils, Jr. and Larry Voils; beloved sister, Barbara Scott; and her sweet boy cat, Milo.
Diane and Marvin have enjoyed their beautiful Brown County home for 26 years. They previously lived in Bargersville where she and Marvin formed an unbreakable bond with what was known as the infamous “Bargersville Gang.” (You know who you are.)
She attended Southport High School, married her high school sweetheart and would have celebrated their 50th anniversary this year. Their love was unmatched and the greatest of romances. Marvin called Diane “My Special Angel” which is a tribute to the first song they shared on their wedding day.
Diane worked as a bookbinder at Burford Printing Company, served as an office assistant at Maple Grove Elementary, production controller for Field Maintenance Shop No. 2 at Camp Atterbury, attained her real estate license and worked at ReMax Preferred in Greenwood and Hills O’Brown, ReMax and FC Tucker in Brown County. She volunteered at Johnson Memorial Hospital and the Brown County Humane Society. She also served as a TRIAD volunteer through the Brown County Sheriff’s Department delivering meals and performing welfare checks on elderly and homebound residents.
Family and friends were Diane’s passion. Not one single day passed in which she wasn’t trying to do something, anything for another. She will be forever remembered for her radiant smile that lit up a room, compassion for nature and all animals, hilarious sense of humor and quick wit, and unparalleled loyalty. She loved to “outfish” everyone, mushroom hunt, ride motorcycles or go for long drives exploring, tend to her garden vegetables and flowers, and spend hours birdwatching and feeding birds with a special interest in hummingbirds by filling multiple feeders daily. Most of all, she enjoyed the simple daily pleasures with her husband, Marvin. Moreover, Diane had an unwavering faith, zest for living and life, and sincere hope to be united with our Father in Heaven, the only place for such an angelic servant. God bless you and welcome home to an eternal life where you shall forever be at peace.
Diane’s family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the I.U. Simon Cancer Center and I.U. Health-Indianapolis, particularly Drs. Lawrence Einhorn and Kenneth Kesler, and the numerous nurses who provided such amazing care and comfort.
In keeping with Diane’s wishes, she will be cremated. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life open house from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 24 at Chateau Thomas Winery, 225 S. Van Buren St. in Nashville.
Cremation services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
