Person involved in theft case charged

A woman who was found in a car at a foreclosed home has been charged with a felony, same as the man who was with her.

Megan M. Nyberg, 36, of Columbus, was charged May 14 with a residential entry, a Level 6 felony, and theft, a Class A misdemeanor.

She was in the driveway at a home on Thunder Ridge Road, at about 7 a.m. on April 26, when Lt. Mike Moore pulled up. Nyberg and a male companion were in a car at the property which had a “no-trespassing” sign posted.

They told Moore that they were there to see about buying the house.

Moore saw a window blind, a bucket of cut wire, a large mirror and some bags inside the vehicle, his report said.

They both denied going into the home.

Officers found that a blind, door handles and cabinet pulls were missing from the home, as well as wire from the garage, the police report said.

Nyberg and the man both were booked into the Brown County jail. The man was charged April 27 with residential entry and theft, identical charges to Nyberg’s.
