Passenger faces drug paraphernalia charge

A woman who was riding in a vehicle which officers stopped in May has now been charged with a drug-related felony.

Heathor Bellon, 42, was initially arrested on an outstanding warrant from Lawrence County after the May 12 traffic stop on Yellowwood Lake Road. The driver, Timothy Morton, 41, also was arrested for operating a vehicle as a habitual traffic violator for life.

While searching Bellon, Indiana Conservation Officer Robert Klakamp reported finding three round pills in a front pocket and three oval pills in her purse. The pills were confiscated since Bellon did not have a prescription for them.

While doing an inventory of the vehicle, conservation officer Joe Tenbarge reported finding a glass marijuana pipe behind the passenger seat on the floorboard. Bellon told Tenbarge that it was hers, but that she did not have any more marijuana on her, the affidavit states. She was charged May 18 with possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.
