Local man stopped for driving while intoxicated

A Brown County man was stopped for driving while intoxicated after two people reported him on June 8.

Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Andrew Eggebrecht stopped Nicholas A. Hardin, 33, in the 2300 block of State Road 46 East at about 10:15 p.m. Eggebrecht reported smelling alcohol on Hardin, that his speech was slurred, his eyes were glassy, his manual dexterity was poor and his balance was unsteady.

A breath test at the scene showed his blood-alcohol content to be 0.18, more than twice the legal limit.

Hardin was charged with two misdemeanors on June 12.
