Letter: ‘Feeling grateful and blessed’ for quick response

To the editor:

This letter is written in thanks and gratitude to so many for the quick response and hard work in containing, extinguishing and cleaning up from the fire at the Camelot Building on July 10.

We were fortunate that a visitor to our village noticed the fire that had started in a flower pot on the second-floor balcony of the building and that she took the time to come in and alert the tenants.

The amazing efforts of our local volunteer fire departments kept the small fire from becoming a tragic event; quick response from our tenants at Bone Appetite, Two Great Minds Marketing and Design, Ooey Gooey Cinnamon Rolls and the Brown County Visitors Center was greatly appreciated; and an incredible effort of hard work and tenacity from the entire crew of our new upstairs tenant The Loft, who worked with me from the time the fire was extinguished until 10 p.m. to have things cleaned and as orderly as they could be for the next business day.

I deeply appreciate Brad from CleanWorks Restoration showing up with his magic van and helping with water remediation inside, and power washing of the Visitor Centers Plaza. Thank you to everyone who has reached out with concern and support. I think the seven of us who spent the evening working together left with a full heart and an appreciation for the village we have chosen to live and do business within. What a blessing!
