Bids sought for paving to improve roads

INVITATION FOR BIDS

Notice is hereby given that the Brown County Commissioners/Highway Department, Brown County, Indiana, hereinafter referred to as the Owner, will be accepting sealed bid proposals on the following items:

2018 Roadway Improvements (Local Funding) – Hot Mix Asphalt Paving

Specifications may be obtained from the County Highway Department.

Bids must be submitted no later than August 15, 2018 at 4:00 P.M. to the office of the Brown County Auditor, 201 N. Locust Lane, County Government Building, Nashville, Indiana 47448, or delivered prior to 6 P.M. to the Commissioners meeting room.  Bids will be publicly opened and read on August 15, 2018 during the scheduled Commissioners meeting which starts at 6 P.M.  Bids shall be submitted on the forms in the Specifications, along with the Non-Collusion Affidavit, copy attached.  A bid bond or certified check (10%) shall accompany each Bid.  Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope to the County and display the name of the Contractor and marked as “2018 Roadway Improvements Bid”.     The successful bidder shall furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the contract amount with an approved surety company.  Said bonds to remain in full force and effect for a period of 90 days after the date of final acceptance of the work.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Proposals or to accept any Proposal and to waive any and all informalities in the bid process.

Specifications are available for review by the Contractors in the Highway Office located at 711 Greasy Creek Rd, Nashville, IN  47448.  Bid specification packages will be available on or after July 25, 2018.
