Local woman injured when vehicle flips

PEOGA — A local woman was injured July 21 after she lost control of a truck she was driving and struck an embankment, causing the truck to flip on its top.

Anita E. Martin, 58, of Center Lake Road, was already out of the truck when police arrived, according to an accident report by Lt. Mike Moore with the Brown County Sheriff’s Department.

Martin told police she was driving north on Nineveh Road near Beech Tree Road. She was going up a hill when the truck’s rear tires lost traction, causing the vehicle to go out of control. It then went off the east side of the road and Martin said she could not remember anything after that.

Moore’s report said it appeared the truck went off the road and into a ditch, struck an embankment and flipped over, coming to a rest on its top in the road.

A passerby did not see the crash, but found Martin in the upside-down truck, belted in in the driver’s seat. She was able to get out and exit the passenger door, the report said.

Martin was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital. Her vehicle was towed.
