Depending on their children’s grade, parents will either see less than a dollar increase or an overall decrease in textbook rental fees for the 2018-2019 school year.

The Brown County School Board of Trustees approved fees for textbook rental, non-permanent texts such as workbooks, and course costs during their board meeting Aug. 2.

Last year, parents of kindergartners paid $95.82. For this school year that price will increase by 62 cents to $96.44.

First- and second-grade book rental fees will be $91.40. That’s an increase of 36 cents.

Third- and fourth-grade fees are $97, which is also an increase of 36 cents.

Parents of fifth- and sixth-graders will pay less this year for textbooks. Fifth-grade fees are $99.25, which is the biggest fee decrease of almost $7 compared to last year.

Sixth-grade fees are $102.36, which is another decrease of almost $4 compared to last year.

Fees will be collected after statements have been sent home. Credit and debit card payments will be accepted through eFunds by signing in to Skyward Parent Access.

Junior high school and high school book fees are based on the classes each student takes. They will be collected after statements have been sent during the school year.
