Columbus man arrested after stop for speeding
A 24-year-old Columbus man was arrested for driving while intoxicated in Brown County on Aug. 11.
Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Colton Magner stopped Drew Haywood just after 5 a.m. on State Road 46 East.
Magner reported that Haywood smelled of alcohol, had alcohol beverage containers in view in his vehicle, that his eyes were watery and that he admitted to drinking earlier that night.
A breath test showed his blood-alcohol content to be 0.14, over the limit of 0.08.
He was charged Aug. 13 with two alcohol-related misdemeanors.
