LAURENS, SOUTH CAROLINA
Willie B. (Moss) Slaton, 93, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018. She was a resident of Laurens, South Carolina and a former resident of Carmel and Brown County.
Willie was born Aug. 19, 1925 to the late Albert Louis Moss and Stella (Buckalew) Moss. She married Estel Morgan Slaton on June 25, 1946. She resided with her husband in Carmel for many years. They moved to their dream farm in Brown County in 1973. In later years, after being widowed, she moved to Laurens, South Carolina with her daughter and son-in-law.
She was an exemplary wife, loving mother, wonderful grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a faithful member of the local churches where she lived. She was a resident of Langston Place in Clinton, South Carolina for the last two years.
She is survived by her daughter, Wanda (Ervin) Stutzman; two grandchildren, Amanda (Bryan) Ferguson and Jeffry (Heather) Stutzman; four great-grandchildren; three sisters; and one brother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and her husband, Estel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2 at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St., Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
