Connie Jo Woodhouse

Connie Jo (Greathouse) Woodhouse, 66, passed away Saturday evening, Nov. 17, 2018 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis. She was a resident Brown County.

Connie was born June 18, 1952 in Peoria, Illinois. She was a 1970 graduate of Brown County High School and went on to marry Joseph L. “Joe” Woodhouse on Feb. 6, 1971 in Nashville. He lovingly survives after 47 devoted years of marriage.

Connie retired from the Bean Blossom IGA where she worked as the deli manager during the 1990s. Prior to that, she worked as a cook for Brown County Schools and in housekeeping at Abe Martin Lodge.

Connie was a member of Nashville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her time working at IGA where she made many friends and hired many students from the Brown County area. Connie’s true passion was playing softball and she played on many adult teams in Brown County up until her 40s. She was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana University basketball. Her claim to fame was being chosen to be on the television lottery game show, Hoosier Millionaire, three times.

Connie loved spending time her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Joe; son, Dan (Jen) Woodhouse of Greenwood; grandchildren, Marcy and Luke Woodhouse of Greenwood; siblings, Danny (Wanda) Greathouse of Bloomington, Kenneth (Janice) Deihl of Illinois, Gary Greathouse of Columbus and Marilyn Jones of Texas.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ethel Greathouse; grandmother, Vera Greathouse; son, Joseph L. Woodhouse Jr.; and siblings, Nancy Roberts and Larry Greathouse.

The Rev. Danny Conley will conduct a funeral service at noon Saturday, Nov. 24 at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery, Brown County.
