HAMBLEN TWP. — A dispute between a woman and her mother on Oct. 26 resulted in both of them being charged with drug-related crimes.

Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Austin Schonfeld responded for a verbal domestic dispute at a home on Depperman Drive between Amanda Blades, 32, and her mother, Monica Walters, 52.

Walters told police that Blades had woken up from a heroin high and was attempting to leave with two children, the police report said.

She took photos of Blades passed out in the bathroom. She said she dumped the contents of a Nike drawstring bag that belonged to Blades and found a number of syringes inside along with a bag of marijuana.

Blades was yelling and calling her mother a liar as she spoke with police. Blades said her mother smokes marijuana, and she pulled a box out with marijuana and paraphernalia inside it that she said belonged to her mother.

Walters said the items belonged to her and that she does smoke marijuana, and that she had smoked earlier that evening.

While searching the Nike bag, Schonfeld reported finding a one-hitter pipe with burnt and raw marijuana inside, Blades’ wallet, pill bottles belonging to Blades and rolling papers. Walters found the syringes inside a plastic grocery bag that was in the Nike drawstring bag.

Blades said the syringes were not hers and belonged to her brother, but she admitted to owning the Nike bag.

Schonfeld reported that Blades had constricted pupils and that her eyelids were droopy. She admitted to smoking marijuana earlier in the day, but denied using heroin.

During a search of Blades, Deputy Andrew Eggebrecht — who arrived on scene to assist — reported finding a folded-up dollar bill with a white powdery substance inside.

Blades was arrested and taken to the Brown County jail. On Oct. 29, she Blades was charged with unlawful possession of a syringe, a Level 6 felony; possession of a narcotic drug, a Level 6 felony; possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor; and possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.

Walters was charged with possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor, on Nov. 5.
