MORGANTOWN

Betty J. (Roberts) Snider, 87, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, Dec. 1, 2018 at her home in Morgantown. She was a former resident of Brown County.

She was born July 16, 1931, in Johnson County to her parents, the late Andrew J. and Cora E. (Bailey) Roberts. Betty attended school in Helmsburg and went on to marry Marvin L. Snider on Dec. 24, 1948 in Brown County. He preceded her in death Sept. 19, 1996, after 47 loving years of marriage.

Betty was also preceded in death by siblings, Jack and Ronnie Roberts; and a son-in-law, James “Jim” Burke.

She is survived by her children, James “Jim” (Arlinda) Snider of Trafalgar, Vickie Burke of Morgantown, Paul Wray (Deborah) Snider of Franklin, Keith Snider of Morgantown, Richard (Sarah) Snider of Morgantown, Kathy (Steve) Robar of Greenwood; brother, James Lloyd (Mary) Roberts of Franklin; 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Betty was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of Morgantown General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn in Morgantown since 1957. Betty was known for always caring for family and friends in need. She enjoyed embroidering, playing cards and creating beautiful drawings with colored pencils. Betty was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts, professional wrestling and game shows.

Bro. Roger Bunch will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5 at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Brown County.
