A 32-year-old Columbus man was taken to the hospital after a rear-end crash on State Road 46 East Nov. 24.

Both vehicles were traveling west on State Road 46 East near Forest Hills Court just after 7:30 p.m. when the crash occurred, according to an accident report by Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Austin Schonfeld.

Judith Zimmerman, 77, of Nashville, told police that she had been rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Phillip Thompson, 25, of Columbus. Thompson told police that Zimmerman had “slammed” on her brakes and stopped in the road. He said he was unable to avoid striking Zimmerman’s vehicle, the report states.

Thompson’s passenger, Keith Horn, 32, of Columbus, was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital for a shoulder injury. Thompson’s vehicle was towed.

All were wearing seat belts.
