HAMBLEN TWP. — A 26-year-old Brown County man was injured in a car crash on Dec. 4 after police say he crossed the center line and struck a tree.

According to an accident report by Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Austin Schonfeld, Caleb Slater, of Bean Blossom Road, was driving north on Sweetwater Trail near Beech Tree Road when the crash happened.

Schonfeld reported Slater ran off the west side of the road before striking a tree. Schonfeld reported that Slater was bleeding from the face.

He was transported to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital for treatment for the face injury, according to the report.

It is unknown if Slater was wearing a seat belt. His truck was towed from the scene, the report states.
