Foundation open last Friday of December

From noon to 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, the Brown County Community Foundation will serve cookies and cocoa. The event is free and open to the public on the lower level of the building, 209 N. Van Buren St.

Light show will go through Dec. 30

BEAN BLOSSOM — Bill Monroe Music Park and Campground will host Christmas at the Bean, an interactive, drive-through light show with live music. The event will run from dusk (around 6 p.m.) to 10 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Dec. 30.

Photo opportunities with Santa, visits, hot chocolate and activities will be available at the museum, along with live carolers and characters such as Snoopy, the Grinch, Frosty and others.

Entrance costs $25 per car (with up to five people) at the gate, $20 (plus $2.85 service charge) in advance or $10 per person (plus $1.80 service charge) by “Lights Express” bus, which boards in Nashville. The bus tour will stop at the Bean Blossom overlook to view the lights, then on to the light show.

A portion of proceeds will go to nonprofit Do Something, BC, which “partners with individuals, families and the community to link people in need to resources that encourage, equip and empower them” for a full, free life.

Movie classic set at the Playhouse for New Year’s

Two showings of “Monty Python and the Holy Grail,” a 1975 PG adventure comedy, are planned for New Year’s Eve at the Brown County Playhouse.

The movie will play at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., Monday, Dec. 31 at 70 S. Van Buren St. For $10, the event includes a champagne toast and party favor.

Reserve at inn to celebrate New Year’s

Two opportunities are available for a New Year’s Eve buffet at Brown County Inn.

The inn also will host a party featuring Hoosier rock and dance band, Big Daddy Caddy, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31.

The inn is at 51 State Road 46 East.

A buffet will be served at 4:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. for $29 per person and $15 per child ages 5 to 11. For $55 per person, adults can get the buffet, champagne, party favors and breakfast. An overnight package for two is $299 and includes all of the above and a room for the night.
