Carole Warford

Carole L. (Shearin) Warford, 86, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, Dec. 26, 2018 at Brown County Health & Living Community. She was a resident of Nashville.

Carole was born Nov. 4, 1932 in Indianapolis, to her parents, the late Frank Myron and Nannie Louise (Bourne) Shearin. She was a 1951 graduate of Southport High School and went on to marry Melvin “Mel” Warford in June of 1951 in Indianapolis; he preceded her in death Dec. 12, 2011, after 60 devoted years of marriage.

Carole was also preceded in death by siblings, Dorothy Marsh, Sarah Rabel, Gus, Carl and Owen Shearin; and a great-grandson, Samuel Asher Borisuk.

She is survived by her sons, Ron (Pam) Warford and Randy (Lori) Warford, both of Nashville; siblings, JoAnn (Don) Mills and Charles (Wilma) Shearin, both of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Gwen Warford, Vanessa (Robbie) Wilkerson, Abbey (Michael) Wray, Caleb (Danielle) Harrison, Ashton (Seth) Wintergerst, Jordan (Nik) Borisuk, Morgan (Thomas) Yaste, Justice Warford, Liberty Warford, Ella Warford, Colton Warford; great-grandchildren, Isaac and Blake Fleetwood, Gemma and Blaine Harrison, Alice Austin, Eliza Jane and Waylon Wintergerst.

Carole retired in 2000 as the office manager for Warford Silgas in Brown County after more than 50 years of service. Prior to that, she held the same position with S.S. Kresge in Indianapolis. Carole was a longtime precinct committeeman for the Democratic Party of Jackson Township.

She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Carole enjoyed traveling, going on cruises, playing bingo, cards and going to shows at the Little Nashville Opry.

A funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30 at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown. Friends may call from noon until service time Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in East Hill Cemetery, Morgantown.
