Police blotter for week of Jan. 1

One arrested, charged after fight on Thanksgiving

A Brown County man was arrested on Thanksgiving after getting into a fight with a relative.

The victim told Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy William Pool that he and his relative, Jason Aycock, 35, of Three Notch Road, got into a fight while at another relative’s home earlier that day. When Aycock arrived at the home, he and the relative went outside. Aycock asked the victim why he had a problem with him and the victim said it was due to Aycock disrespecting his wife, the probable cause affidavit states.

Aycock then shoved the relative before putting his hands on the victim’s throat. The two then came crashing through the living room door, Pool’s affidavit states.

The victim said that once inside the house, Aycock “shoulder bumped him very hard” before telling him he would “blow his brains out.”

The victim’s wife told police that she saw Aycock place his hands on her husband’s throat and that the two were yelling at each other. The wife stepped in and reported hearing Aycock threaten to shoot the victim. Aycock and his girlfriend then left the home.

Another relative also spoke with police about the incident.

Pool found Aycock at his home. He said the two went outside to talk about why the victim had nothing to do with Aycock anymore. Aycock said the conversation became heated and that the victim had pushed him. He said the two went inside, and that’s when they started shoving each other before putting their hands on each other’s throats. The fight was broken up and he left the home with his girlfriend, he said.

Aycock was placed under arrest. On Nov. 30, he was charged with battery, a Class B misdemeanor.

Traffic stop results in OWI arrest

A traffic stop for following too closely and driving left of center resulted in the arrest of a Brown County woman for driving while intoxicated on Dec. 9.

Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Colton Magner stopped Rachael House, 27, just before 8:30 p.m. on State Road 46.

Magner reported smelling alcohol on House, that her eyes were bloodshot and watery and that her balance was unsteady. She failed two field tests.

A breath test showed her blood-alcohol content to be 0.19, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08.

House also submitted to a chemical test. The results of that test are pending.

She was charged Dec. 11 with two misdemeanors for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating a vehicle while intoxicated with endangerment.
