PET TAILS: Help these long-stay shelter pets find homes

0

Some of the cats and dogs that come to the Brown County Humane Society shelter are adopted quickly. They are a great fit for most homes and families. Others take more time. Perhaps they need to be the only pet, or they are shy, or maybe they have special needs. Their great home is out there, it just takes time to find.

These four pets have all been at the shelter much longer than usual. Each of them will be a wonderful companion. We hope you will share their stories so that their great homes can be found.

MOBY

Moby is a goofy, playful friend and companion to those he knows and loves. He enjoys hikes, watching TV, his squeaky duck toy and cuddles. Unfortunately, he had some scary experiences in his life and became wary of strangers so he should be the only pet in a home with no kids and few visitors. A free consultation with a trainer will be provided to his adopter. Time at shelter: 1 year, 1 month.

BABY GIRL

There is no dog sweeter than Baby Girl. She adores cuddles, belly rubs, reading time, walking in the sunshine and every person she meets. She’s a gentle and quiet companion who radiates love. Baby Girl does need to be the only pet and would do best in a home where someone is home most of the day or she has regular access to a doggy door. Time at the shelter: 7 months.

BATMAN

Batman is a darling and sweet-tempered boy. His favorite things are chin scratches, head rubs, and rolling over to make it easier for you to do those things. He makes the best kitty-biscuits-of-happiness and is so happy to have attention. Batman is also nervous about things like loud noises and lots of activity. He would love to be in a less-active home where his quiet nature is appreciated and encouraged to flourish. Time at the shelter: 6 months.

FUZZ

He is a gorgeous boy whose owner was no longer able to care for him. He has not adjusted well to the noise and activity of the shelter and spends much of his time curled up in his kitty condo. He has slowly begun to explore and has increasingly accepted affection, but he will be so much happier when he is in a home of his own. He just needs someone to have faith in him. Time at the shelter: 6 months.

If you would like to learn more about any of these pets, please call the shelter at 812-988-7362 to speak with one of the animal care staff.
