Police: Driver unable to remember how crash happened

A 34-year-old Edinburgh man told police he was unable to remember what caused a crash in Brown County Jan. 16, which resulted in him going to the hospital.

A vehicle over an embankment was reported just after 11 a.m. near the Brown County State Park west gate on State Road 46 West, according to an accident report by Lt. Mike Moore with the Brown County Sheriff’s Department.

When Officer Moore arrived on scene, he reported finding the driver, Vlad Moore, injured and still in the car. Vlad Moore told police he did not know what happened; all he remembered was driving to Bloomington from Trafalgar. He said that his face and side hurt.

Evidence at the scene indicated Vlad Moore was driving west on State Road 46 West when he went through a left curve and lost control. He started to slide left of center before crossing the eastbound lane, going off the south side of the road and over the embankment before striking a tree on the left side of his vehicle, the accident report states.

An ambulance took Vlad Moore to a hospital. The vehicle was towed. Vlad Moore was wearing a seat belt, the report said.
