HAMBLEN TWP — A 48-year-old Brown County man had to be flown to a hospital  after he crashed an all-terrain vehicle on his property last weekend.

William Smith was riding up a hill at his home in the 8800 block of Sweetwater Trail at about 4 p.m. March 1 when the ATV rolled on top of him, according to Indiana Conservation Officer Brent Bohbrink.

Smith had to be flown to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis due to difficulty breathing and general injuries, Bohbrink said on March 5. A landing zone was set up at Indian Creek High School.

EMS, the Brown County Sheriff’s Department and Hamblen Township Volunteer Fire Department all assisted at the scene.
