ATTN: Van Buren taxpayers: Cumulative firefighting building and equipment fund adopted

NOTICE OF ADOPTION

To the taxpayers of Van Buren Township, Brown County, Indiana.

You are hereby notified that on March 4th ,2019, Van Buren Township, Brown County, Indiana, pursuant to notice heretofore given, and under and by virtue of IC 36-8-14, duly adopted a plan whereby a Cumulative Firefighting Building and Equipment Fund was established to provide for all uses as set out in IC 36-8-14.

The fund will be provided for by a property tax rate of $.0333 per one hundred dollars ($100.00) of taxable real and personal property within the taxing unit beginning in 2019 payable in 2020 and thereafter, continuing until reduced or rescinded.

10 (ten) or more taxpayers in Van Buren Township, Brown County, Indiana, who will be affected by the tax rate and corresponding levy may file a petition with the Brown County Auditor not later than noon 30 days after the publication of this Notice setting forth their objections to the proposed cumulative fund.

Upon the filing of the petition, the Brown County Auditor shall immediately certify the same to the Department of Local Government Finance, at which point the Department will fix a date for and conduct a public hearing on the proposed Cumulative Firefighting Building and Equipment Fund before issuing its approval, disapproval, or modification thereof.

Duke Energy will conduct vegetation management with herbicide application to clear power line right-of-way

Area Plan Commission will accept public comment on proposed amendments to Town zoning ordinance

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING OF THE BROWN COUNTY AREA PLAN COMMISSION

Please take notice that the Brown County Area Plan Commission has scheduled a Public hearing to be held on Tuesday March 26 at 6:00 PM in the Meeting Room, Brown County Government Building, 201 Locust Lane, Nashville Indiana.

The purpose of the hearing shall be to accept public comment on a proposed amendment to the Table of Land Uses and Requirements for the Town of Nashville Zoning Ordinance. The substance of the amendment would be to reduce the minimum lot size per dwelling unit from 12,000 square feet to 6000 square feet in Rl districts. It also proposes to reduce the minimum ground floor area from 1200 square feet to 800 square feet for single family dwellings in Rl districts for both single story and multi¬story dwellings.

Copies of the proposed amendment are available for inspection in the Brown County Area Planning Office, Brown County Government Building, 201 Locust Lane, Nashville, Indiana, 47448. Written comments on the proposed amendments may be filed with the Secretary of the Area Plan Commission prior to the hearing and will be considered at the hearing. Oral comments concerning the proposed amendments will be heard. The hearing may be continued from time to time. Following the hearing the Brown County Area Plan Commission may take final action on the amendment and/or on any proposed changes to the amendment and make recommendation to the Nashville Town Council regarding the amendment.
