MORGANTOWN
Kenneth Franklin Brown, 77, of Morgantown, passed from this life at 2:10 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2019, at his residence.
Kenneth was born Sept. 21, 1941, in Rushville, the son of Kenneth Edward and Hattie Hatfield Brown. On July 3, 1976 he married Jeanie Ross. Mr. Brown was a United States veteran having served in the Marine Corps. In 2012, he retired from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management where he was an environmental scientist in the water division. He enjoyed metal detecting, fishing and being a bluegrass picker; for many years he had a bluegrass band.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Jeanie Brown of Morgantown; brother, David Earl (Renee’) Brown of Greensboro; mother-in-law, Anna Hamill of Rushville; brother-in-law, Phil (Emily) Ross; sister-in-law, Sue Ross; nephews, Zack Brown, Josh Brown and Tony Ross; and nieces, Amanda Ross and Heather Ross.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Rebecca Brown.
In keeping with Mr. Brown’s wishes, cremation will take place.
Family and friends may visit from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 23 at The Figtree, 4865 Helmsburg Road, with military honors at 1:30 p.m. by the Brown County Honor Guard.
