Nancy A. Belcher

BLOOMINGTON/NASHVILLE

Nancy A. Belcher, 59, of Nashville/Bloomington, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2019. She was born in Bedford to Fred E. and Rebecca E. (Cannady) Wineinger.

She was taught at an early age she should take care of her little sister and brother, Mary Jane and Larry Joe. She learned to be a productive, nurturing friend that you could count on. She was “Aunt Nancy” to almost everyone. She was a Bloomington High School South graduate of 1978.

She embraced change, but enjoyed stability. From 1978 to 2019, she had six employments: Bloomington Hospital cafeteria; Indiana University food service; U.S. Postal Service, Clear Creek; Wetterau Foods; For Bare Feet, Helmsburg; and Cook Medical Park for 23 yeas in the wire guide/material prep area.

She could fix almost anything and knew a little bit about almost everything. She loved the outdoors, camping, sitting around a campfire, working on their property in Trevlac on HER 1953 Ferguson TO-30 tractor, collecting implements for her tractor and mowing their 5 acres (so she could get some “air time” as she called it).

The three things that she loved with all her heart:

1) Her husband, whom she married Sept. 19, 1985 (33 years);

2) Their home in Brown County;

3) Her grandson, Tristan.

She was a member of: the Order of the Eastern-Star, Stanford Chapter 533; the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary 1085; and the Loyal Order of the Moose Ladies Auxiliary 839.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Belcher; a sister; a brother; stepdaughter, Vivian Eleven of Seattle, Washington); stepson, Jeremy Belcher (Amy); grandson, Tristan; uncle, Raymond “Jake”(Jennetta) Wineinger; aunt, Darleen (Jerry) Burton, all of Bloomington; aunt, Mary Jo Cannady of Bedford; stepbrother, Kevin Robertson of Smithville; and his sisters; sisters-in-law, Sue Lake (Horace) of Bloomington, Mary Kurdiziolek of Harrodsburg, Sandy Smith (Floyd) of Nashville; brothers-in-law, Richard “Rick” Belcher (Donna Hays) of Whitehall, Donnie Belcher (Darla) of Licking, Missouri; along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by both parents; stepmother, Reva Wineinger; grandparents, Ruby Pearl (Marshal) May, Robert Leo Wineinger and Alice Cannady; uncle, Ralph “Splinter” Cannady II; sister-in-law, Marti Greer; brother-in-law, Bruce Kurdiziolek; and first husband, Leon (Lee) Fleener.

A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 17 at Allen Funeral Home and Crematory, 4155 Old State Road 37 South, Bloomington. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, and again from 10 a.m. to time of service on Wednesday.
