Injuries reported in head-on crash on Clay Lick

A Nashville man was injured and had to be taken to the hospital after a head-on crash on Clay Lick Road on June 5, police said.

John Allison, 31, of Nashville told police he was driving south on Clay Lick Road near Kelly Reed Road when he went around a curve too quickly and ended up on the wrong side of the road, an accident report by Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Chad Williams states.

Richard Gaither, 57, was driving north when Allison’s vehicle happened into his lane and the two vehicles collided.

Allison admitted the crash was his fault, according to the report.

Gaither had had recent surgery on his leg and was complaining of pain. He was taken to a hospital, the police report said.

Gaither posted on social media that his wife, son and grandson also were in the vehicle with him and that his wife had injured her thumb. None of that information was included in the police report.

Both men were wearing their seat belts. Gaither’s vehicle was towed.
