A 23-year-old Brown County man has been charged with an additional felony after he fled the courtroom upon hearing of his sentence in a different case.

On Aug. 20, Brady A. Oliver of Center Lake Road was in Brown Circuit Court for a hearing about whether or not his suspended sentence would be revoked. He was on probation in a 2016 felony case of dealing in a substance represented to be a controlled substance.

The court sentenced Oliver to 365 days in the Brown County jail. Oliver was to be remanded to the custody of the jail immediately. However, Oliver fled the courtroom, its court officers and the custody of the Brown County jail, according to Officer Michael Knight’s report.

A review of the court’s security cameras reportedly showed Oliver left through the second-floor emergency exit.

Oliver had not been taken into custody as of Aug. 21.

On Aug. 22, he was charged with escape, a Level 5 felony.
