Mitzi Garman, Debbie Olson

The Regional Opportunity Initiatives (ROI) has added 32 more teachers to its STEM Fellows program, including two from Brown County: Mitzi Garman of Brown County Intermediate School and Debbie Olson of Van Buren Elementary School.

The teachers selected for Cohort 3 have begun a yearlong leadership and teaching program to advance science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) activities in elementary and middle schools in the Indiana Uplands region.

Fellows develop skills that will help them become STEM leaders within their schools, share learning with their colleagues, and encourage other teachers to integrate STEM into their own curricula.
