Pastor Richard L. Crowley passed away peacefully Monday, Sept. 23, 2019 in Nashville, IN. He was born March 20, 1934 to John and Anna Crowley. He graduated from Moral High School in 1952 and then joined the U.S. Navy. He served in the Navy from 1952-1956 and is a Korean Veteran. He married Wilma Kehrt on Sept. 5, 1953. Dick and Wilma had one son, Johnathan.
He was ordained to the ministry and was pastor to several different churches over his 40 year ministry including Knoxville, Columbus, Shelbyville, Nineveh and Nashville. He has received recognitions from Habitat for Humanity Foundation of Brown County, Indiana Habitat and Community Action for service to the needy. He was President to the Brown County Habitat for Humanity and President of Brown County Ministerial Association.
He was preceded in death by his son Johnathan and his beloved wife, Wilma.
He is survived by his brother, James Crowley, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 27, 2019 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. in Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, 1682 State Rd. 135 North, Nashville, IN 47448. The service will begin at 2 p.m., also in the funeral home, with Pastor Robert Green officiating. The burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery with military honor presented by the Brown County Honor Guard and the US Navy.
