In Brown County there are six volunteer fire departments working to protect the community daily.

The firefighters respond not only to house or vehicle fires, but you will also see them on the scenes of car crashes, medical emergencies and even cutting up fallen trees on local roads.

In this week’s Democrat we honor our volunteer firefighters and salute them for their hard work.
