Kay F. Dougherty, 77, a resident of Nashville, Indiana, passed from this life at 11:50 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mrs. Dougherty was born May 5, 1942, in Columbus, Indiana, the seventh of thirteen children born to the late Louie and Frances Miron Novellett Messina Miller.
Mrs. Dougherty was graduate of Nashville High School.
Mrs. Dougherty was the owner/operator of school buses for Brown County Schools retiring after 35 years of service.
Mrs. Dougherty was a faithful member of the New Life Community Church in Nashville and some of her hobbies include gardening, hiking, cooking and playing her dulcimer.
Mrs. Dougherty will be missed by her loving family, her children, Cheryl (Bob) Wyman of Brown County, Jeff (Dawna) Miller of Bloomington, Indiana and Drew (Lisa) Miller of Brown County; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean Trendleman of Terre Haute, Indiana, Mary Banister of Columbus, Brenda (John) Roszak of Florida and Peggy (Richard) Furanna of Connecticut; brothers, James (Cynthia) Miller of Columbus, Gerald (Violet) Miller of Nashville, Indiana, John (Brenda) Miller of Brown County, Steve (Barb) Miller of Nashville, Indiana and Kevin Miller of Nashville, Indiana; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mrs. Dougherty was preceded in death by her parents, Louie and Frances Miller; her husband, William Dougherty; sisters, Vivian Taggart and Margaret Ann Miller; and a brother, Marshall Dean Miller.
A memorial service celebrating Kay’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019 at the New Life Community Church, 1450 North State Road 135, Nashville, Indiana; Josh Ercoli will officiate. A reception will follow the service at the church.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, 2626 East 17th Street, Columbus, Indiana 47201 or cards will be available at the church.
