Alfreda Bea White, 70, of North Vernon, Indiana, passed from this life at 11:45 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, 2019 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.
Alfreda was born May 2, 1949, in Columbus, Indiana, the daughter of Woodrow and Laura M. Gatewood Lucas.
She was a homemaker. An avid bingo player, Alfreda was a member of the Commiskey Bingo Hall and she enjoyed fishing and mushroom hunting.
Survivors include her spouse, Robert Dilk of North Vernon; daughter, Michele Cardinal-Horton and her husband, Johnny of Brownstown; grandchildren, Brittany (Roger) Bland of North Vernon, Joseph (Shawna) Lovitt of North Vernon, Martin (Destiny) Cardinal of Scipio, Christopher Odell of North Vernon, Dalton Cardinal of Brownstown, Lillie Horton of Brownstown, Devin Cardinal of North Vernon, Kristin Pless of Bloomington, and Dillon Cardinal of North Vernon; great-grandchildren, Vincent and Zane Lovitt and Jennessa, D.J. and Jeremie Cardinal; brother, Delbert (Sharon) Lucas of Brown County; sisters, Bernice Walker of Nineveh, Rose Marie (Fred) Fulbright of Springfield, Missouri and Veronica Mace of Brown County; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Alfreda was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow and Laura Lucas; seven week old son, Michael Clarkston; and a brother, Robert Lucas.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2019 at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home, 1029 Washington Street in Columbus.
In keeping with Alfreda’s wishes, cremation will take place following the visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
