Local Indiana Junior Duck Stamp winners
Five local students earned awards in the Indiana Junior Duck Stamp Contest. Judging took place virtually among 203 student entries. Local winners were:
- Laura Prevot, second place, Grades 7-9
- Kate Wilson, second place, Grades 7-9
- Julia Burt, honorable mention, Grades 7-9
- Adalin Grider, honorable mention, Grades 7-9
- Shirley Lecklider, honorable mention, Grades 7-9
The Junior Duck Stamp Contest promotes learning about waterfowl and conservation by creating art. The national Junior Duck Stamp Contest winner receives a cash award and a free trip to Washington, D.C. for the Federal Duck Stamp art competition judging. The national Junior Duck Stamp winner is also made into a collectable stamp.
The Indiana Junior Duck Stamp Contest is judged in four age categories with three first-, second- and third-place winners in each age category, plus 16 honorable mentions.
