Edgar G. “Ed” Freese

Edgar G. “Ed” Freese, age 76, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at his home in Nashville.

Ed was born Dec. 17, 1943 in Indianapolis, to his parents, the late Harold and Carmen (Coy) Freese. He was a 1962 graduate of Southport High School and went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Indiana State University in 1967. While at Indiana State, Ed played on both the football and the wrestling teams, where he made all conference in both sports. Later, Ed earned his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Indiana University.

He was retired from the owner and operator of Bright & Williamson Insurance Agency in Nashville. Ed attended the Sprunica Baptist Church and enjoyed listening to gospel county music. He also enjoyed playing golf, fishing, woodworking and restoring old furniture. Ed loved caring for his property in Nashville and feeding the deer and turkeys.

He is survived by his daughter, Kelli (Troy) Lumaye of Larkspur, CO; grandchildren, Ben. Nate and Eliza Lumaye; siblings, Mary Frances Mull, Bill Freese, Ted Freese and Monte (Kathleen) Freese, all of Indianapolis, Denny Freese of Pendleton and Myrna (John) Adams of Glenwood Springs, CO; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Ed’s Life will be held at a future date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
