Coach’s comments: The Eagles traveled to Tameka Woods Golf Course Wednesday, Aug. 7, to open their golf season in a match with Indian Creek and came home victorious. The junior-led squad fired a respectable opening match score of 232 to edge the Braves, who recorded a 248. Indian Creek’s Hannah Emenhiser took medalist honors with a 47, but the Eagles posted the three next-lowest scores. Annika Evenson led the Eagles with a 52. She got scoring help from Ainslie Winton with a 57, Abby Padgett with a 61 and Avery Patterson with a 62. Christy Sebastian and Mattie Satter fired a 65 and 71, respectively, to round out the Eagles’ performance. “It was an absolutely beautiful day for golf. Each player experienced some highs and lows, as is always the case. I was very pleased with their poise and character,” said Brown County co-coach Brad Baughman. The Eagles compete in a three-way match with Whiteland and Edinburgh on Monday, Aug. 10 at The Legends Golf Course in Franklin. They will host another three-way match the next day when Brownstown Central and Edgewood visit Salt Creek Golf Retreat.
