Club news for week of Oct. 21

Rotary club

The Brown County Rotary Club will meet via Zoom at 8 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23.

Jessika Hane, district governor for Rotary District 6580 and director of human resources at Oliver Winery, will be the guest speaker.

Hane is a 13-year member of the Bloomington Sunrise Rotary Club where she served as a board member, fundraising chair and club president followed by district governor-elect. She is currently district governor responsible for more than 1,500 Rotarians in 32 clubs across Southern Indiana and is the youngest woman to serve as the Rotary district governor in Southern Indiana.

Hane has served in leadership positions on the boards of multiple nonprofits in Bloomington including Cardinal Stage Company, where she served as marketing committee chair and board president and the Community Foundation of Bloomington Monroe County as scholarship chair and co-chaired the successful Thrive By Five Endowment initiative.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in speech communications and theater and drama from Indiana University in Bloomington where she is also an adjunct faculty member in the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs.

Rock and mineral club

The Brown County Rock and Mineral club meets the third Saturday of each month and has outings most months.
