Motorcyclist injured in 135 North accident

BEAN BLOSSOM — A 50-year-old visitor from Clayton was injured in an accident on State Road 135 North on Nov. 8.

It was reported near Old Settlers Road just before noon, according to a report by Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Austin Schonfeld. He reported that Steve Swartz was driving his motorcycle south and Michelle Overton, 40, of Indianapolis, was stopped facing north trying to turn left when Overton allegedly pulled out in front of Swartz’s motorcycle.

This caused Swartz to run off the west side of the road and he was ejected from the motorcycle, the report said.

He was not wearing a helmet and reportedly had a head injury. He was taken to a hospital by ambulance for further treatment.

Overton told police she did not see the motorcycle. The report said that the two vehicles did not make contact, but the motorcycle was damaged on the front and left sides and was towed.
