Letter: More attention needs to be given to environment

0

To the editor:

I began working for the air and water quality in 1969 working on the first Earth Day in my hometown of Washington, D.C. Whether climate change is accepted or not, pollution does exist. The current administration attempted to take away 101 protective policies. Not all policies have gone ahead, but many have, while so many people are focused on other actions.

We need to wake up for the sake of our children and grandchildren and for our own health. “Don’t drink the water” and “don’t breathe the air,” sung in the ‘60s and now coming true again.

Sincerely,

Sura Gail Tala, Unionville
