Jason Martin

Jason Martin was born on Feb. 1, 1976 to John and Donna Martin. He moved from San José, California to Brown County, Indiana when he was a teenager. He attended Brown County High School and graduated in 1994, in that time he made lifelong friends and had a positive impact on many. He went on to play football at Franklin College. He worked at the old Sock Factory in Helmsburg where he met Kathy (Slater) Martin and by April of 2000 they were married. He was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2002 and spent the rest of his life being a stay at home dad to his three girls Katelyn, Madison and Jascyn.
He passed away on Jan. 16, 2021 at the age of 44 in the comfort of his own home in the arms of his wife and three daughters. He is survived by his father, John Martin; his wife, Kathy Martin; his brother, Brandon Martin; his daughters, Katelyn Martin, Madison Martin and Jascyn Martin; as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Donna (Bennett) Martin; his grandfather, Wyman Martin; his grandmother, Lou Martin; and his grandfather, Jack Bennett.
Jason was a devoted husband, caring father, dedicated son, loving brother and kind friend. He was always willing to help anyone he could and had a special way with people. He never knew a stranger and always made everyone feel included. He was one of a kind and will be deeply missed by many.
A celebration of life memorial service is scheduled for 11 am on Saturday, Jan. 23rd at New Life Community Church in Nashville, Indiana. Guests may begin arriving at 10 a.m. and all who wish to come are welcome. Pastor Tim Conboy will officiate.
