Letter: ‘Improper’ for group to support human rights effort

0

To the editor:

I offer no opinion on the merits of establishing a human rights commission in Nashville, but I was disappointed to see that the Brown County Community Foundation is involved in this effort. The focus of the BCCF is leadership and community impact through philanthropy, as spelled out in their mission and vision statements. This is rightly a non-partisan, non-political focus. It would have been improper for the foundation to weigh in on whether police cars in Nashville should have the Blue Lives Matter flag decal, just as it is improper here.
