Brown County Parks and Recreation, 902 Deer Run Lane, Suite B, has opened baseball and softball registration. The deadline to register is Friday, March 5.

As county offices are currently closed to the public, participants must register online or over the phone. Contact the parks and rec office at 812-988-5522 or visit bcparksrec.com.

Costs range from $40 to $95 depending on the program with early-bird discounts. A $10 discount is available for each additional child registered after the first.

T-Ball is for ages 4 to 6.

Rookie League (coach pitch) is for ages 7 and 8.

Minor and Major League programs are for ages 9-10 and 11-12. This is a tri-county league. Games will be played in Nashville, Morgantown, Princes Lakes, Trafalgar and Edinburgh.

Babe Ruth is for ages 13-15. Games will be played in Nashville, Columbus, Hope, Indian Creek and Edinburgh.

Practices will begin the last week of March.

Parks and rec also is in need of umpires and sponsors and coaches for this year. Those interested in umpiring, sponsoring or coaching can contact the office.
