For the second year in a row, there will be no Spring Blossom Parade through downtown Nashville.

The Brown County Lions Club reported Monday:

“Because of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic and precautions advised by local, state and national health advisers that we should not promote large community gatherings until later in the summer or fall, the Brown County Spring Blossom Parade will not be held in 2021.

“Brown County Lions Club president Mariea Fox expressed the regret of the club at having to cancel the parade for the second year of the pandemic, something not happening since World War II changed the parade schedule.

“The parade was first held in the spring of 1929 to welcome people to enjoy the sights and sounds of Brown County. The Lions Club has been organizing the parade for the community since the 1980s. The pandemic has also caused the Lions Club to postpone club projects, such as the fruit sale, the coupon book fundraiser, and the pancake community breakfasts.

“Like everyone else, we acknowledge the sacrifices our community has made to keep healthy and await the safe return to normal activities in Brown County.”
