Hamblen Township Volunteer Fire Department Chief Arlan Pierce received an award for his service on March 11.

He was recognized at the Nashville VFW Post 6195 with the Public Servant Award for Firefighter of the Year 2020 for the local VFW and the 9th District.

He was selected for his “consistent excellence in the performance of his duties and dedication of his official responsibilities, with continuous growth and skills within his profession, expanding over 40 years of experience,” said VFW Senior Vice Commander Bill Hamilton.
