BEAN BLOSSOM — A 23-year-old Martinsville man was injured after he crashed a motorcycle on State Road 135 North May 16.

Jeffery Tackett was driving north in the 6200 block when he came upon an officer on the side of the road with emergency lights on, helping another driver who had a flat tire, according to an accident report by Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Scott Bowling.

There was a truck behind the officer that was stopped, letting traffic from the south continue.

Bowling reported that Tackett slammed on his brakes when he came upon the scene, but his bike began to skid. The motorcycle went off the road and into a ditch. It flipped several times before stopping.

Tackett was taken to a hospital for injuries to his entire body. He was wearing a helmet. His motorcycle was towed, the report said.
