A 48-year-old Franklin man was injured after he tried to avoid hitting a deer, ran off the road and hit a tree on Hoover Road.

The crash was reported just after 1 a.m. near Georgetown Road on May 22.

Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Nicholson Briles found the driver, Larry Lambert, out of his truck, stranding at the back of it. His nose was bleeding. Lambert told Briles he was driving north on Hoover Road when he noticed the deer in the road. He tried to move to the outer portion of the lane, but his passenger side tires went off the road, pulling his truck off.

His truck was towed by a friend. Lambert was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. He refused transport to the hospital.
