Coach’s comments: We had a disappointing performance in our loss to Indian Creek Wednesday afternoon at Salt Creek Golf Retreat. Freshman Clay Austin, playing in the No. 2 slot, posted his lowest round of the season with a 54.

<strong>Cloverdale 13, Brown County 0</strong>

Game roundup: Brown County trailed only 1-0 after two innings, but Cloverdale pulled away for a 13-0, five-inning Western Indiana Conference win. Abigail Watson took the loss for the Eagles (0-13, 0-9).

<em>Top 3 automatically advance to regional</em>

Coach’s comments: The track team had a strong showing Thursday night at the Bloomington North Sectional. The boys finished fourth overall, just 3.5 points behind third-place Edgewood. The night was highlighted by a sectional championship by Ricky Stanley in the pole vault. Stanley cleared a personal-best height of 13-0. Reid Davis improved his discus by nearly 3 feet and placed second with a 137-8. The Eagles got a pair of third-place finishes from the 4×8 and 4×4 relays. Rafe Silbaugh, Rhett Silbaugh, Waylon Patrick and Chase Austin qualified in the 4×8, and Patrick, Austin, Stanley and Cameron Fox returned at the end of meet for the qualifying 4×4. Those qualifiers, along with Austin in the 800 (fourth at 2:01.59) and Rhett Silbaugh in the 1600 (fifth at 4:57.24) will compete next Thursday evening in the regional competition at Bloomington North.
