GREENCASTLE — DePauw University’s spring 2021 dean’s list includes Brown County High School graduate Jordan Dolph. Dean’s list honorees achieved a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Every year, women’s organization P.E.O. awards scholarships nationally to young women who are pursuing secondary education. This year, Nashville’s candidate, Jessica Guler, has been awarded one of these $2,500 scholarships.

A graduating senior, Guler became immersed in activities immediately and got involved with the Riley Dance Marathon. With her as vice president in charge, they were able to raise $100,000 for the hospital. She has a passion for helping students with special needs, serves as a peer tutor and is involved with Unified Sports. Jessica also created a club, Champions Together, so students could compete through the school year.

Guler plans to study at Indiana University to become a speech therapist, a field in which she can continue to assist people with disabilities.

IUPUC dean’s list

COLUMBUS — Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus named 276 students to the spring 2021 dean’s list, including these from the Brown County area:

  • Freetown: Tyra Dawn Newsome and Malachi Scott
  • Nashville: William T. Bradshaw, Jacob Cumberledge, Davida Ann Lane Freshour, Brittany Nichole Gholston, Cannon L. Kelp and Jessica Lynn Pittman
  • Morgantown: Paxton Avery Henderson
  • Nineveh: Darion N. Buckner, Baylee Burton and Rhanda Weaver Cobb
  • Trafalgar: Zoe K. Lawless, Serena Christine Tillman and Paige Lynn Wilson

Those named to the list maintained a GPA of 3.7 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
