Indiana residents impacted by the severe storms June 18-21 are asked to contact Indiana 211 to report storm damage and help with a statewide damage assessment.

The storm produced several tornado warnings and resulted in severe flooding in some areas of the state. The storms damaged or destroyed multiple buildings, caused evacuations and resulted in temporary shelters erected in counties with considerable damage. At least one death in Monroe County has been attributed to the swift-moving storm.

In all, more than 20 counties have reported damage thus far.

Residents with damage can call 211 or visit the Indiana 211 website at https://in211.communityos.org.

The Brown County Dragway on Gatesville Road had intense flooding on the track, according to co-owner Bandy Russell.the experience was "overwhelming." A two-day race was supposed to start on Saturday and was the only race scheduled for the month of June."We had so many volunteers that came to help, over 100 work hours given to get everything cleaned up ready to race," Russell said. "What would have taken well over a week otherwise, and then the pits were just too muddy to offer a good experience for our racers."Russell said it was a "tough call" to cancel Sunday after all the work invested in trying get it up and running. Her brother and co-owner Billy Fields said it was a big hit with all the struggles they've had this year. Submitted photo
