Adventurers will take a 2-mile hike through a section of the Tecumseh Trail with views of an abandoned canning factory owned by the state entomologist in the early 1900s, Benjamin Wallace Douglas. The Rudds will share the history of the orchard and canning factory along the way, as well as other favorite unique Brown County adventure spots. The hike will conclude with a picnic at a place on the Hickory Hill property, appropriately named “Picnic Hill.”
  • Bike & Paddle Adventure in the Backwoods of BC, $200 — Clint Hammes and John Tiernan will guide participants on a mountain bike ride to a canoe journey, ending with a remote picnic. The mountain bike ride will start with some of the most popular Brown County State Park singletrack. Participants will then head to Yellowwood State Forest along a series of more rarely traveled single and double track trails. A short country road connection to the backwaters of Lake Monroe will lead to canoes and kayaks for a two-hour paddle. Adventurers will be required to provide their own mountain bike (bikes can be rented locally); kayaks/canoes and shuttles will be provided.
  • Gravel, Wallow and Hereshome Picnic Adventure, $200 — This biking adventure starts at Freeman Ridge and is followed by two options: a 7-mile ride down the gravel Wallow Hollow into town or a 3-mile paved ride down Bear Wallow.
