Marilyn Claire Clough Michener, 85, widow of William J. Michener, passed away Friday, August 27, 2021, at her daughter’s home. Born on November 4, 1935, in Claremont, NH, she was a daughter of the late James E. Clough and the late Jeanette Remy Clough. Mrs. Michener was a member of Ringel Heights Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir and the Adult Sunday school class. She also enjoyed ministering through Operation Christmas Child. Mrs. Michener enjoyed to travel and later met her husband while training to become a long-distance truck driver. After her time driving a truck across the country with her late husband, Mrs. Michener went on to become a clerk at a bank, a job she held until her retirement. Along with traveling, she enjoyed reading, music, knitting, spending time in the kitchen and spending time with her family while sitting around a camp fire. Survivors include four children, Cynthia Silvers of Pawleys Island, William Wright (Annabel) of Barboursville, VA, James Wright (Carolyn) of Nashville, IN and Andrew Wright (Cindy) of Toledo, OH; two step children, Mike Michener (JoEllen) of Franklin, IN and Beth Ann Russell (Dean) of Franklin, IN; 17 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret “Peg” LaPoint (Don) of Claremont, NH and Lisa Miner of Lebanon, NH; four brothers, James Clough (Rhetta) of FL, Joseph Clough (Julie) of Sunapee, NH, John Clough (Jolene) Newport, NH and Michael Clough (Ginger) of Stockbridge, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jim Silvers. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Friday, September 3, 2021, at the Nashville Christian Church with Rev. Tim Bond officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Nashville, IN. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon to 1:00 PM at the church.
