Glenn A Dodge, 66, of Nashville died Thursday, September 2, 2021 in I.U. Health, Bloomington Hospital. He was born January 2, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan to Robert and Marjory Dodge.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Cindy Dodge; two sons, Mikael (Sarah) Dodge, Ryan (Katelyn) Dodge, two daughters, Caitlin (Brody) Dodge-Stancombe, Graciela (Jon) Erdmann; one sister, Allison (Harold) Turenchalk; ten grandchildren, Kendra Erdmann, Antonio Dodge, Nylah Dodge, Willow Stancombe, Noah Erdmann, Addison Dodge, Penelope Dodge-Stancombe, Mason Dodge, Dakodah Erdmann, Emerson Dodge; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter, Audrey Dodge.
Glenn was a proud University of Virginia graduate and avid Cavaliers fan. He also graduated 2nd in his class with his MBA from Indiana University. Glenn spent the majority of his working career in banking and pharmaceuticals, most recently serving as the VP of Finance at Applied and Blairex Labaratories. In this role, he was able to work alongside Tony Moravec, who he thought of like a brother.
He was an active member of City Church and could often be heard singing loudly (generally on key) and laughing harder than most at any joke in the sermon. Glenn was passionate about swimming and could often be found in the Brown County YMCA pool making the largest splashes during his famous flip turns.
Despite all of his accomplishments and hobbies, family was the thing that gave Glenn the most joy. He loved taking trips with his wife and they often stopped at the Big Boy, even though it wasn’t Cindy’s favorite. They loved going to the beach, the mountains, or Charlottesville, as long as they were together. Glenn was a proud dad to four children and was always there to provide an encouraging word, a dad joke, and of course a hug and an “I love you.” He adored his grandchildren, and they felt every bit of his love through his hugs, teasing, and “fives in their lips.” No matter who was talking about Glenn, they would say he was always there when you needed him and made an impact on their life.
A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7th at the City Church: 1200 North Russell Road in Bloomington. Friends may call from 2 p.m. until the service time at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home in Morgantown. All guests attending services will be asked to wear a mask in an effort to promote a safe environment.
